Purpose of Position: To support the ministry and core values of the church by serving the congregation. Assist as an office receptionist and provide administrative support to pastors, staff and committees.
Receptionist and Communications
Answers phones and Serves as the receptionist to receive members and visitors with gracious hospitality and maintains a Christian environment in the church office to support Servant of Christ’s ministry.
Prepares Parochial Report and Annual Report for pastor’s review.
Gathers, prepares layout and prints all information for monthly newsletter including coordination of volunteers to help
Prepares weekly prayer letters
Gathers and prepares layout for worship bulletin & screens for all Sunday/special services
Coordinates and maintains worship hospitality with volunteer recruitment
Orders and maintains supplies needed for communion elements
Baptism Ministry: gathers baptism info, completes and orders certificates, candles, Bibles, napkins and name tags.
Order and maintain all candle inventories for church throughout the year.
Creates reviews and provides all materials needed for Friendship pads.
Manage/update database for church mailings, directory, new member packets, friendship pads and visitor correspondence.
Manage and coordinate prayer chain requests.
Manage and coordinate volunteers and the information for the 12 hr prayer vigil
Performs general secretarial tasks such as making copies, filing, record keeping, data entry, sorting and distributing mail. Taking messages/emailing as well as organizing church mailings.
Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive materials or information.
Attends weekly staff meetings and quarterly staff meetings.
Identifies administrative issues, recommends solutions and assists in the implementation of approved change.
Coordinate Altar flower requests for bulletin.
Performs other tasks and projects as directed.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Requires the completion of a high school program plus specialized knowledge or specific training in business or secretarial course work. Training in computer systems software and procedures is preferred.
Requires two years’ experience in a secretarial position that includes responsibility for word, power point, publisher, excel spreadsheets. Knowledge in graphic design.
Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to relate to a wide variety of people and provide information across a broad spectrum of church activities and procedures.
Requires ability to lift up to 25 pounds and operate office machines and equipment.
Purpose of Position: To support the ministry and core values of the church by being responsible for the proper cleaning and maintenance of the church buildings and grounds, providing a safe, clean and welcoming space for members and guests.
Perform all assigned cleaning and maintenance duties to meet expectations of excellence for ministry.
Servant of Christ Church Building/Preschool
· Sunday night or Monday morning (Downstairs): Clean and disinfect downstairs bathrooms, vacuum/mop: all floors and rooms, empty trash. Downstairs bathrooms daily
· After Wednesday night for Thurs Morn (Downstairs): Vacuum/Mop: Preschool area, Sunday School Rooms and Kitchenette (flr/sink), wash and disinfect bathrooms, empty trash. - Vacuum 3x per week
- Sweep/Mop 2x per week or as needed
· Prior to Wednesday night School (Upstairs): Straighten sanctuary chairs, pick up sanctuary, clean and disinfect bathrooms upstairs and vacuum sanctuary if needed.
· After Wednesday night prior to Sunday morning (Upstairs): Vacuum and dust Sanctuary, straighten chairs, remove old bulletins/papers, set up baptismal font and candle prior to all baptism worship services, clean and disinfect bathrooms upstairs/downstairs. Wash glass on Sanctuary Doors, Fellowship Hall doors, outer outside doors
· Weekly (Upstairs): Vacuum all office areas, narthex and fellowship hall, empty trash, clean glass areas, wash kitchen floor
· Set up and Take down for Quilting group 2nd/4th Thursdays.
Maintain/order inventory of custodial supplies (cleaners, paper products, light bulbs, etc.)
Replenish all paper supplies/soaps in designated areas as needed
Change light bulbs and handle minor repairs as needed
Shampoo and Spot clean carpeted areas as needed
Communicate all repairs, replacements or areas needing attention (painting, etc.) to Office Manager.
Perform other duties, as directed by Office Manager.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Requires High School diploma with preferred training in custodial and housekeeping work.
Requires knowledge in methods of excellent cleaning and maintenance processes and knowledge of OSHA standards.
Requires ability to operate and maintain standard cleaning equipment (vacuum rug cleaning machine, small hand tools) etc.
Prefers custodial experience with references of maintaining high standards.
Requires ability to lift 75 pounds.
Requires dependability, trustworthiness, positive attitude and image and willingness to work.
