“So let’s do it—full of belief... Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on.” –Hebrews 10:24-25

Text: John 1:1-14

Sermon Title: “Back to Basics”

Theme Whether it’s dance, music, athletics, math or any other subject at
school the basics are always important. Without basic competency in
the basics a person can’t continue to move forward in their particular
discipline. The Apostles’ Creed is a reminder of not only the basics of
Christianity but of what binds us together despite our vast differences.

Questions to Think About as You Read:
1) If you were going to write your own creed about the basics of your life what
would it include?
2) Why do we use The Apostles’ Creed so frequently at church?
3) If someone were to examine your outward and inward life what creed would that
write about your life about what you actually believe?
