“So let’s do it—full of belief... Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on.” –Hebrews 10:24-25

Text: Jonah 1:1-3; 3:1; 4:1-11

Sermon Title: “A Transformed Community”

Theme Communities are often transformed and pull together because of
disasters. In the Book of Jonah the town of Nineveh has more than
120,000 people and the community is transformed into following God
as Jonah followed God’s prompting to go there even though Jonah
didn’t want to.

Questions to Think About as You Read:
1) When have you seen a community pull together because of something good or
bad that happened?
2) When have you seen a small group of people pull together?
3) When have you “pulled it together” following the prompting of God even though
at first it might not have been something you wanted to do?
