“So let’s do it—full of belief... Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on.” –Hebrews 10:24-25

Text: Philippians 4:5

Sermon Title: “BELIEVE: Be – Gentleness”

Theme What is it about gentleness that seems to be in such short supply in
our society? This is a challenging and in some cases disappearing
virtue because it may not always get you “ahead” in life. However, in
primary life relationships gentleness is important for them to be healthy
and fulfilling.

Questions to Think About as You Read:
1) Why is gentleness often likened to weakness?
2) Why might it take great strength to be gentle?
3) In Philippians 4:5 why do you think Paul puts these two sentences together?

Sermon Title: “BELIEVE: Be – Kindness/Goodness”

Kindness and goodness sometimes come naturally towards those
who are kind and good toward us. Sometimes they are hard virtues to
employ especially when we may not “get back” what we’d hoped.
Allowing the Holy Spirit to help us be kind and good without any
expectation of receiving anything in return is very powerful.

Questions to Think About as You Read:
1) Is there a distinction between being kind and good?
2) Examine your spiritual life and where do you find evidence of the kindness and
goodness of God?
3) In what relationships would you like to experience more kindness and goodness?
